Artificial intelligence

‘Innovation’, what a beautiful word! When we surf the internet to seek the definition of this word, we find it to be, “The act of innovating; the introduction of something new in customs, rites, etc.”, says Wiktionary. But when we go out in open and think about it, we find that Innovation doesn’t only mean a few words but is the set of answers that we, humans, proposed to some small and some gigantic questions. Everything around us had been innovated. From a pencil to a man-made satellite, all is innovation. Even we, humans, are innovations of God.
Innovation is not just a thing we got to know about in the previous decade but a legacy from the birth of the very first human. The only difference is that earlier, we innovated to survive while today, we are innovating to make our lives easier and more interesting. At that time, the fire was the leading innovation that changed our lives and made our brain capable enough of thinking of what we didn’t even know about. And now, the innovation which is driving us is ‘Artificial Intelligence’.
The term ‘Artificial Intelligence’ was coined by Mr. John McCarthy. Well, the term alone can define itself, it is the “Intelligence exhibited by an artificial entity.”, says Wiktionary. Artificial Intelligence has been one of the hottest topics for the past few decades. It has achieved many great feats in the past few years. Its development has traveled all the way long from a thought of our mind to be a reality. It uses a neural network to figure out everything around it. For example: To train an AI to differentiate a cat from a dog, it has to be shown hundreds of images of a dog as well as a cat from different perspectives. The best thing here is, unlike normal computing, an AI is not needed to insert a program again and again for different things it had done before i.e., AI can learn as well as figure out everything without a human’s input.
While we think that AI has developed to a great extent, it’s important to know that the ability of AI to figure out something is far less than a rodent! So, we have to wait a few decades more to celebrate the great feat of AI becoming smarter than us.
Although it would be a celebrating moment, we have to remember that “There’s only one king in a kingdom”. The ‘king’ in this situation would be our own creation, the AI, which will lead its parents, humans, to the way to extinction. Well, this may not be the case, but one should be prepared for all possibilities. That’s the only way humans could thrive forever!

Thanks!!!
